Look back DEWIS Webinar Symposium 2020 |

This year’s theme of the DEWIS Symposium 2020 was gender differences in scientific disciplines. On 1 December, we welcomed Pascale Fung, Professor at the Department of Electronic & Computer Engineering and Department of Computer Science & Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST), who talked about gender roles in the AI World. Hanneke Takkenberg, Professor of Clinical Decision Making in Cardio-Thoracic Interventions at the department of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery at Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam, discussed sex and gender in heart interventions. |

Presentation Monitor Women Professors 2020 |
|
TU Delft has the lowest percentage of female professors of all the Dutch universities. The results of the annual Women Professors Monitor show that at present, 16.9% of the professors at TU Delft are women. This is an increase of 0.8 percentage points in comparison with 2018. The growth rate is lower than the average growth rate of 1.1 percentage points. TU Delft’s aim was for 15% of its professors to be female by 2020. This goal has been achieved. |
