LNVH Monitor 2019: 16% female professors at TU Delft
 
The TU Delft has 16.1% female professors. A slight increase (1.5 percentage points) compared to last year. The Netherlands has 23.1% female professors, according to the Women Professors Monitor 2019. The percentage of women is still decreasing at each ascending rung of the career ladder. Work remains to be done.

Recognition and reward of academics: what does it mean for you?
 
The VSNU, NFU, KNAW, NWO and ZonMw published the position paper ‘Room for everyone’s talent: towards a new balance in the recognition and rewards for academics’ in which we indicate how we aim to more broadly recognise and reward the work of academic staff. This includes placing less emphasis on the number of publications, and a greater emphasis on the other domains in which the academic is active, such as education and impact.

The Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU) organized a discussion about undesirable behavior in October 2019. If universities want to tackle intimidation and harassment, they should change the academic culture.

Social safety included in new code of good governance 
 
Good to know: ‘The university promotes an open culture in which every topic can be discussed.’ That is stated in the new code for good governance in Dutch Universities. Nine guiding principles form the heart of the new code of conduct for university administration. It applies from 1 January 2020 for all deans, executive and supervisory boards.
